Bob Baffert

Bob Baffert has trained a total of three Kentucky Derby winners – Silver Charm in 1997, Real Quiet in 1998 and, most recently, War Emblem in 2002. Other top horses trained by Bob Baffert include Captain Steve, Congaree, Point Given, Silverbulletday, Thirty Slews, Vindication and Midnight Lute.

Among his many other accomplishments, Bob Baffert has trained winners of eight American Classic Races, three Breeders’ Cups, and two Dubai World Cups.

Bob Baffert has had four wins in the Preakness Stakes (1997, 1998, 2001 and 2002) and a win in the Belmont Stakes (2001). Other major US Classics and BreedersÂ’ Cup wins by Bob Baffert include the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (1992), the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (1998) and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (2002).

Horses trained by Baffert won the Dubai World Cup in both 1998 and 2001.

Baffert has won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer a total of three consecutive times, in 1997, 1998 and 1999. He has also captured the position as top annual money leader for trainers a total of four times, and won the 1997 Big Sport of Turfdom Award.

In 2007, Bob Baffet was inducted into the Lone Star Park Hall of Fame.
